As the hot summer days begin to come to an end, anticipation begins to grow for that upcoming Football Season. Diehard supporters of Manchester United are confident that their team will get back the Premier League Trophy from Chelsea. Liverpool and Arsenal are likewise hoping to win the title. Maybe a longshot will upset the top 4 and claim the championship. As the season begins, everyone has hopes and dreams that their hometown team can win it all.

Out within the pubs, debate is heating up. Fans are all set to set aside their weekends and focus on the world’s most popular sport. As the number 1 professional football league in England, most of the attention is directed toward the Premier League’s premier teams. Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal have taken over the sport for about the last 15 years or so. The other 16 teams that make up the league might not be given a lot of a chance to win the championship, but, their fans are just as excited about the new season.

Bets are being placed at the local gambling parlors. In England, the only thing football fans like much better than watching a football match is placing a bet on a football match. With the latest disappointing performance in the World Cup in South Africa, football fans are anxious to see their heroes back in action. Although, the sting of defeat still flows via the blood of dedicated fans of the national team, it is time to move on and watch the best football league within the world.

Women might not see a lot of their husbands because the season gets underway. Like the “football widows” in America, who must resign themselves to their husband’s passion for the National Football League (NFL), British ladies also find themselves being ignored in favor of an important football match. On the other hand, many ladies are also dedicated football fans and set aside everything when a match is underway.

There is something of a national spirit that takes over the nation during football period. Everyone wants to know the score of the matches. Individuals go to pubs or gather at friend’s houses to enjoy the games. Stadiums are generally full to capacity and it may be impossible to obtain tickets to the best matches.

A football match is a time to escape from the realities of every day life. For a couple of hours, no body frets about their bills building up or difficulties at their place of employment. Everybody from young children to senior citizens can enjoy the sport. Kids kick the ball around, pretending to be their favourite football hero. A header for a goal or a magnificent save by the goalkeeper, causes a genuine celebration. Teenagers play football on a beginner level and take it really very seriously. It may start out as an effort to obtain a little excercise, but, rapidly turns into an all out fight for victory.
