PostHeaderIcon Using QuickSub To Make It Easier For Your Visitors To Subscribe To Your Feed

You can make it easier for your visitors to subscribe to your RSS feed. With a free and easy to install javascript function you can add the http://www.methodize.org/quicksub/ (QuickSub) feed button to your webpage in just a few minutes. Let me show you just how easy it is.

QuickSub is a javascript mouseover function that produces a list of RSS feed readers that you can use to subscribe to your RSS news feed with one click. You can see it in action on my RSS resource site, just move the mouse over the subscribe link. You should see a list of RSS feed readers. If you click on one of the news reader links it will open up that RSS reader and add this feed to it. You will need the particular news reader installed on your computer for this to work. So for example if your visitor uses SharpReader as their RSS reader then they would click on the Sharpreader link and this would add your feed to your visitors RSS reader.

To use QuickSub on your site you will first need to download the javascript and CSS files from QuickSubs site. The file is compressed so you will need to unzip the file which will leave you with quicksub.css and quicksub.js as well as a sample html file.

Upload the CSS as javascript file to your server. Now you will need to add some code into your web pages. You will need to do this for all of the pages that you wish to use QuickSub on.

Please note that in these examples I have used square brackets instead of angled brackets.

First you need to copy some code to call the CSS file. Add this line with your head tags.

[style type="text/css"] @import “quicksub.css”; [/style]

Then copy this code into the body of your page.

[div id="quickSub" style="position:absolute; visibility:hidden; z-index:1000;" onMouseOut="return timeqs();" onMouseMove="return delayqs();"][/div]
[script language="JavaScript" src="quicksub.js"][!-- quickSub (c) Jason Brome --][/script]

Then where you want to use QuickSub place this code in the body of your page.

[a href="http://www.sitename.com/rssfeed.xml" onmouseout="return timeqs();" onmouseover="return quicksub(this, 'http://www.sitename.com/rssfeed.xml');"]Your link text here[/a]

You just need to replace the path with the path to you RSS feed and enter you own link text. All is left now is to upload your modified page to your web server and the new QuickSub javascript will be active.

PostHeaderIcon Stretch Mark Treatments That Actually Work?

Stretch Marks, known in the medical community as erythrocyanosis are a form of scarring that can occur when a person’s skin is overstretched.

The Two Main Stretch Mark Causes Are:

1) Pregnancy

2) Obesity

Appearance:

Stretch Marks have the initial appearance of purple or red looking lines. In time Stretch Marks can fade to a white or off white color.

Stretch Marks are a VERY common condition. Just think of all the people who are either pregnant or overweight!

Stretch Marks are not just confined to the female population either – few people realize that they are a common complaint of male body builders.

Three Possible Stretch Mark Solutions

Stretch Mark Treatments vary from out-and-out scams to some very smart and scientific remedies.

Three of the most common are:

1. DERMABRASION. This is a serious medical procedure that takes place under a general anesthetic. Dermabrasion is definitely not for the faint of heart.

In Dermabrasion the surface of the skin is literally removed by a process of sanding. The aim of dermabrasion is to remove (or at least lessen) the appearance of scars, damage from the sun or dark spots.

The procedure is obviously very painful (hence the general anesthetic) and the healing process can take several months. However, the results can be quite spectacular.

Dermabrasion works best when the scar or mark being treated is above the surface of the skin and is generally much less effective when used to treat sunken scars.

Be Warned: Having a general anesthetic is NOT something to be taken lightly; it carries inherent risks and can be life-threatening. Always seek a second medical opinion (speak to more than one doctor).

2. MICRODERMABRASION. Often referred to as ‘Microderm’ this is far less invasive procedure that has become very popular throughout the Day Spa and cosmetic industries.

In Microdermabrasion the surface layer of the skin is removed by using a special wand with a roughened surface that lightly sands the skin. The shed skin particles are removed via a suction device attached to the wand.

People like Microdermabrasion because it has a reputation of being a safe, painless procedure that does not require an anesthetic.

3. SKIN TREATMENT CREAMS. This is one of those areas where you are most likely to encounter ‘wild claims’ and the general ‘rule of thumb’ here is that if something sounds too good to be true – it probably is.

That said, there are literally tens of thousands of people who swear by such things as Vitamin A Cream, Cocoa Butter and a whole raft of different specially formulated cosmetic creams.

One thing you can do is ask the people trying to sell you any Stretch Mark Removal treatment to show you before and after photographs of their last 50 clients.

Also, ask for written testimonials.

Skin care experts also say that the correct diet, nutritional supplements, rest and common sense (avoiding excessive sun exposure) can have a big impact on the skin’s ability to heal and its general appearance.

PostHeaderIcon In Praise of Satin — Wordy Pleasures in Mind inDeed! – Sheets of fun or just Fun in sheets?

Satin exudes such wonderful images and connotations that it seems to have transcended its own meaning. From this point, perhaps sensual is one of the better descriptions one can find, though of course, there are endless possibilities of its use for conveying such a fascinating variety of over and undertones.

Onomatopoeia-cally pronouncing, the word epitomizes, conveys, abounds with that slithery sound of scintillating seduction, so smoothly stroking the senses as it swishes around savoring those saucy secret seconds that strengthen the soft sequences with a silky suave-icity sweetly secreting its soulful sound saturating this scribe with solicitously sinewy baloney …need I say more! And I seem to have covered a fair few synonyms at the same time.

Imagery invoked from a few moments of thinking allows one to daydream the night away with fanciful fantasies of frolicking in fields of fern in a feeling frenzy of fearlessness fused with …(OK, I know when to stop…well, maybe?)

Satin hits you with its moods of regality, opulence, or just downright “I’m in the mood” flashing billboard or banner. It is thoroughly expressive, exploding on ones senses in a way that you just wouldn’t normally suspect from a piece of cloth. Then again it contradicts itself with that impressively delicate quality of smooth feminine softness lounging there exquisitely in such relaxed pose. It reassures you and soothingly opens you to its timeless side of passive restfulness.

As trimming on ones cot bedding is often where one first comes into contact with this motherly material. It took away the rough edges of life — a bodily knowledge grasped when young minds’ concepts were still blended like baby foods; even earlier still, as one climbed ones mother’s mountains and nestled into those nurturing nipples. Woe there! — Who knows what subconscious powers this tantalizing textile has over us?

As lingerie, which woman would not succumb to that satinicity gently guarding her erogenous charms?

As pajamas, could anyone wish for more erotic pampering?

As bedding, who could not slumber soundly surrounded with such exotic coverings?

As furnishings, would no-one stand for satin slipcover seats?

PostHeaderIcon Estate Planning & Living Trust Information

There is often confusion, that estate planning is something only rich people or people in their later years need to take care of. This is a real problem because almost everyone but the very poor needs Estate Planning. Wherever you live in the United States, and if you own anything worth over $30,000, including personal things worth nothing to anyone, but you or your family, you will be subject to probate, left to the state to decide who will get, what ever there is. Property, Investments or even a photo album. Put some times aside and do some planning and save yourself a lot of grief and a ton of money in court costs and taxes.

Deciding on who gets what, is the function of estate planning. The most important part is having legal documents, that are acceptable in you state. There should be a step by step outline, expressing your wishes after you are deceased. If you do not have an estate plan, it will be left up to the state. Every state had different rules and trust me, they will not necessary be in your best interest. The state laws will apply, and your assets, will be divided to your wife and other family members according to state law. Guide your own destiny and do not leave it to the state and leave your family in a state of confusion. Have an estate-planning document in place.

People are becoming more educated but a great many have no provisions for when they die. There is neither a living trust nor a will in place. For the most part we are consumed with our everyday duties. This is an area we don’t like to think about and contemplating our demise is our least favorite subject. But sad as it is a great many people die at an earlier age they expected with out a living trust or a will. The sooner you take care of it, the sooner you can move on, and forget about. Protect your family and whomever you care about and do not put them through the grief that will cause if you have no such document.

So what will be my choices for a living trust and estate planning?

Traditionally, estate planning has involved creating a will. This is the legal document that decides who gets what after you die. Who will be the administration of your estate that will be there to make the decisions you no longer can? Or you can leave it up to probate court.

This procedure can be relatively quick if there are not a lot of financial resources and could be over in a manor of months but if there is real wealth could take years.

Once you have a will, and as long as you have your wits. You can makes changes as many times as you wish. Depending on whom is in favor at the time.

PostHeaderIcon Relationships: Developing Resilience To Emotional Abuse

Of course the best way to protect yourself from emotional abuse in a relationship is to leave it and find a better one.

Most individuals are unable to muster the courage to do this for many reasons that involve fear. I have written about this in another article (i.e. Relationships: The Fear Of Letting Go Of A Bad Relationship).

One of the reasons why an individual is a) hurt by such emotional abuse and b) has trouble leaving the relationship in the first place is that deep down they “believe” what is being thrown at them by their abuser.

Now I know that some of you may not only find this hard to believe you may also find it to be an offensive statement. It isn’t meant to be.

Let me explain what I mean.

Suppose, for instance, you are a man and someone came up to you and said “You’re a woman”, would you be offended or hurt? Well unless you feel unsure about your own sexuality, and some do, you would find such a statement totally laughable, wouldn’t you?

You would likely think that the person who uttered such a statement about you was totally confused.

So what does that say? Well it says that you “know” with 100% certainty that you are not a woman. Hence the insinuation that you are, to you, is totally ridiculous.

Now suppose someone came up to you and said “You’re stupid”.
If you know with 100% certainty that you are not stupid you would also find this laughable.

Now I know that the reaction of most people to such a statement about them would be met with either slight or great offense. They might feel hurt, angry, annoyed, and might even get violent.

Why is that, well as I said it is because they, at some level also believe it about themselves. What happens when someone else says it to them is that it opens up an old deep wound that then creates a deep feeling of emotional pain. Their reaction is simply their feeble attempt to quench that pain.

Such deep wounds are the result of similar earlier childhood trauma when they in an effort to survive or be loved by older authority figures allowed themselves to be seduced into believing such negativity about themselves (see my article “Emotional Landmines”).

So here is the initial root of the belief so to speak.

The truth, whether you accept it or not is that you are not and never were stupid! If you have trouble believing that then my point is made!

What’s more if you have a hard time believing that it’s because you are carrying the trauma I mentioned above.

Did you know that such trauma and hence such feelings about one’s self can be permanently erased from one’s life?

What impact does this have? Well it leaves you completely resilient to such trauma in future!

By completely resilient I mean something like this:

You feel in the midst of such abuse absolutely calm, neutral, at peace, confident, joyful, happy, content, strong, invincible, focused, clear, and even humored. What’s more you are free to leave it behind, which is what I’m sure you wish to do, correct?

Is that worth anything to you?

If so and you would like to know how to improve your life and your relationships then kindly visit the web link below where you may arrange an introductory telephone consultation with me.

PostHeaderIcon Two Way Radios : A Beginner’s Guide

A two-way radio is a device which transmits and receives voice signals through the air. They work somewhat like a telephone, but since they do not require a central network they can be used anywhere! With two way radios, two or more people can have a discussion no matter where they are — sometimes while they are miles apart! Another common name for a two-way radio is a “walkie talkie”.

The most common type of two-way radio for regular consumers is the FRS/GMRS two-way radio. These are the radios that you typically see in the big-box stores. FRS and GMRS are the different frequency ranges, or channels, that these radios can operate on. The FRS channels are 8 though 14 and the GMRS channels are 15-22. Channels 1 through 7 are shared, and are used by both the FRS and GMRS systems.

All radios in your group will need to be set to the same channel before you can communicate. For example, if your radio is set to channel 7 it will send your voice over that channel when you talk, and it will listen for and allow you to hear other people talking on channel 7. It is always important to remember that these channels are public! Always be careful what you say over a two way radio, because you can never be sure who is listening.

When choosing a channel, privacy and range should be your primary concerns. If you are using a FRS only channel, because of government regulations your radio will only broadcast at a maximum of .5 watts of power. This wattage will typically get you between half a mile, and one mile of range. If using a GMRS channel, you can get the maximum output power and range out of your two-way radio. However, if you are using a GMRS channel, you are required by the FCC to purchase a license to operate on those frequencies.

As far as privacy goes, if you choose a channel and notice that there are others using the same channel, you should switch to a different channel to avoid confusion. Sometimes, such as at a crowed amusement park, 22 channels just aren’t enough to provide privacy. Because of this, most mid range radios and up also provide “Privacy Codes,” which break up a single channel into anywhere between 38 and 121 sub-channels. When you figure in the privacy codes, many radios offer over 1000 individual channels for you to choose from.

Some two-way radios operate on AA or AAA batteries. You will also find that many of the radios come with rechargeable battery packs and desktop chargers. If you buy a model with a rechargeable battery pack, you will get the convenience of the rechargeable batteries and plus, you will still be able to operate them with regular batteries if your battery packs happen to drain before you get them back to their chargers.

There are many good uses for a two-way radio, but they can come in especially handy on family vacations or outings. Have you ever taken a trip to an amusement park or a ski trip and somehow got separated from your friends or family? A two-way radio would have been very helpful to locate one another. How about taking more than one car on a road trip? A two-way radio would be a great means of communication between vehicles.

Another popular sport in which two-way radios can play a big part is hunting. Hunters are always in need of some sort of communications device to keep in contact with one another throughout the woods. The avid hunter can now even find two-way radios in camouflage color!

The major brands of two-way radios include Motorola, Cobra, Midland, Kenwood and Uniden. You can find radios from these manufacturers in all different ranges of output power and distance. There are all different types of features out there you can get with your two-way radios as well. Many two-way radios even support the NOAA weather channels. There are also lots of accessories you can find for your two-way radios including headsets, handheld speakers, earbud receivers, and throat mics. A lot of these you can even operate hands-free as long as they, and the radios, are VOX capable. You can now even buy car chargers for your two-way radios!

It is no doubt that two-way radios have come along way over the years. Most people have found them impossible to live without, just like cell phones! From starting out at a maximum range of about 2-5 miles, you can now find them with maximum ranges of up to 14 miles! Next time you are on the go with friends or family, make sure you’re prepared and take a two-way radio along. They may just prove to be pretty handy.

PostHeaderIcon Roulette System To Improve Your Odds And Win More

If you’ve read any of my articles before, you know I always emphasize the fact that there are many viable systems for any type of gambling. Roulette is no exception. While admittedly one of the more difficult games to gain an edge in, I have found a few systems that really do make a difference. Here is an introduction to one of those systems.

The method is based on an electronic failure on a random computer program installed into internet and electronic terminals. The random program installed into these systems which distributes the numbers is only random within its probability quota.

What Does This Mean?

The random program installed into machines has number allocated occurrence probability. This means that every number is given a 1/37 chance of being drawn (0 & 18 Red 18 Black). Unlike real table roulette in a casino where a number is never guaranteed to be drawn, computer generated roulette has to provide a balance of numbers ensuring over a large total of spins each number would have been drawn a similar amount of times (within a few percent), this few percent is called the ‘realistic waiver’ which is supposed to add realism to computer generated roulette.

How Does This Help?

Well firstly it ensures a fair number allocation and obviously if you’re chasing a set number you know it will eventually come in. However it may not come in for 70 – 80 spins but then you will find it may come in 2-3 times within 10 spins. However this is not enough to invest money in chasing set numbers; however it compliments our FORCE THE ZERO system.

Force the Zero

This system is very simple, bear in mind the above explanation of number allocations. If you place equal bets on Red and Black every spin you will never lose any money, except for when 0 is drawn. However we have discovered a unique factor. When you keep betting Red and Black you will keep winning on color bets (even though you break even because you have bet on both Red and Black), but the computer registers a winning color bet every time so therefore we have discovered that that the color Green 0 starts to be drawn a lot more to combat the constant wins on Red and Black. Therefore bets on Green 0, Red and Black with a bet placement structure provide the basis of our system. This system has been tried and tested on numerous occasions on internet casino roulette and roulette betting terminals with fantastic results. The System also
relies on target structure so that substantial profits can be made and continued.

There are four simple steps required to use this system, which I will be revealing in a future article. Until next time, I hope this information has got you salivating for roulette wins at your favorite casino!

Yes it’s true: Ellison Mansfield has made a career out of gambling. He’s flown under the radar for virtually his entire adult life, beating the casinos and stockpiling his winnings. PostHeaderIcon Get more than just a presence on the Internet

The water purification salesman had been talking to us for what seemed like hours. During a lull in his monologue, I asked if he had a website.

“Yes. In fact, we are the only independent distributors of this product who does,” he proudly beamed.

“So you get a lot of leads from the website, then?” I asked.

“No, actually I don’t think we’ve gotten a single lead from it,” he replied.

“Then why do you have a website?” I wanted to know.

“To have a presence on the Internet.”

A few days later, our home inspector was giving us an update on the state of our house. We had bought it a few years earlier in winter, when snow was on the ground and on the roof, and we thought an update would be a worthwhile investment.

“Do you have a website?” I asked.

“Yes, I do. But, I don’t think a single customer found me that way.”

“Then why do you have a website?” I asked.

“To have a presence on the Internet.”

A lot of entrepreneurs and small businesses are sold on paying for a website because it is important to have a presence on the Internet. For many businesses, that is true. But what does “a presence” mean?

Would you open up a store in the corner office of the fifth floor of an office building, or would you open it up in the mall?

Would you leave the windows bare, or would you fill the windows with merchandise and open the door to make your store inviting?

Would you ignore customers when they enter the store, or would you carefully place merchandise and staff to maximize the revenue from each visit?

“A presence” is only valuable if the website serves a purpose, if it fulfills its goals. Just sitting there, somewhere in cyberspace, is not a sound business strategy. An experienced website marketing consultant can help you determine what goals, if any, are viable for your business website.

Here are a few of the goals you might want for your website:

Online pamphlet.

If you connect with customers by telephone, this is an ideal way to instantly deliver a pamphlet to them. No mailing, no delays, they can even call up your information while you are on the phone with them. This website has to look credible and be choc full of information.

Credibility booster.

If you are selling a big ticket item, particularly one that requires a good reputation, a website can help. This website should look upscale and focus on credibility-boosting content. It is ideal for speakers, consultants and other business-to-business service providers.

Lead generator

One excellent use for a website in many non-retail businesses is as lead generator. The idea is to funnel traffic (website users) into the site and lead them to take action. Such action might be to call you, to request a brochure, to request a free sample, etc. The main requirement for this is the maximum amount of targeted traffic possible, of people interested in what you have to offer.

By way of example, my marketing strategies website serves these first three goals: online pamphlet, credibility booster and lead generator.

Email Address Gatherer

This is really a form of lead generation, but it is unique in that you are not trying to sell through the website, but through an email newsletter (also called an ezine). The website is there primarily to pique interest, and the newsletter is there to build affinity and trust in order to make the sale. You need to have a newsletter set up, and you need targeted traffic.

By way of example, my personal growth website at serves this goal, attracting subscribers to my Daily Dose of Happiness.

Sell

Of course, if you sell hard goods, electronic goods or even many services, you can make the sales right online. You need some form of payment gateway and/or shopping cart, and your website needs to be able to make the sale from start to finish, which is not always easy. Of course, you also need customers in the form of targeted traffic.

By way of example, my liquid vitamins website at serves this goal.

What you want your website to achieve should dictate the look, the structure, the content, the writing style and whether or not the site is optimized for the search engines. Before investing any more money of time in your website, invest the time required to determine the goals you want your website to achieve.

Or you could be like that water salesman or my home inspector, satisfied with having “a presence”. Of course, many people go through life having “a presence” on Planet Earth, but most entrepreneurs I have met are go-getters. If “a presence” is not good enough in the real world, why settle for it in the online world?

A website should be an investment, not a cost. If your website is not working for you, or if you feel your business should have a website, determine realistic and useful goals, then set your website up to achieve them.

Maybe you don’t need a website at all. Or maybe your website could double your profits. Either way, don’t let it sit there gathering dust somewhere in cyberspace.

David Leonhardt is an effective seo consultant and a website marketing consultant..

PostHeaderIcon Deterring Birds From Your Home

Bird watching is a growing phenomenon. It’s great unless you have birds “raining” down on your home. Fortunately, there are a wide variety of bird deterrents available now. .

If you’re reading this article, you have concerns for the environment and try to take steps not to destroy it. This is extremely commendable, but even the heartiest environmentalist hates the things birds can do. Sometimes they are just letting nature take its course after eating while other times they seemed to have picked your space as home. A couple birds can be great. A flock can drive you insane.

The traditional method of dealing with excessive attention from birds is the use of scarecrows. In theory, scarecrows present birds with the illusion of a person being present and supposedly get the birds to move along to another neighborhood. As with many traditional beliefs, this one is partially true. Birds don’t care for humans, but traditional scarecrows really aren’t particularly persuasive. Something that moves, however, definitely does the trick.

Modern scarecrows come in a variety of forms. None of them look like the scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz. Instead, they tend to come in two primary forms.

The first is in the form of a predatory bird that is motion activated. A particular favorite is the owl, a known predator of most birds.

The second form of bird deterrents is the spinning arm device. Motion activated, the device sits on a platform and has long “arms” that whip around when activated. They are often called “whirly birds” or some similar title. To save a little money, you can even go with solar powered bird deterrents.

Solar powered deterrents tend to come in the whirly bird category. Motion activated predatory birds such as owls tend to be battery operated, which can make them expensive over time. The best approach is typically to buy a solar whirly bird and life-sized cheap owl. Place the owl an easily viewed area where the birds congregate and place the whirly bird exactly where they are causing problems. The combination usually takes care of any problems.
